Reston Association Board of Directors Announces Resignation

(Posted September 29, 2023) - The Reston Association Board of Directors announced today that Category B Director Mike Collins has submitted his resignation from the Board effective September 28, 2023.  Collins, who in addition to his role as the Apartment Owners’ Representative (Category B) served as the Board’s Secretary. He joined the Board in April 2020 and was re-elected in April 2023 for a second three (3) year term. He previously served on the Board from April 2010-2013.

Collins reported it was “with a heavy heart” that he submits his resignation and noted that new career commitments were the reason behind his decision.

 “On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Mike for his leadership and for his multiple stints of service to Restonians,” said Board President John Farrell. “We wish him and his family the very best and thank him for his many contributions to our community.”

Nominations from the Category B Members (or their designees) for the open position will be accepted by the Association until noon on October 12, 2023. Association Staff shall advise the Category B Members (or their voting designee) of the list of nominees and record the respective votes. After a five-day voting period, Association Staff will tabulate the results and notify the nominees of the results. The successful nominee will be seated at the October 26 Board meeting.
