Reston Association Kicks off the Holiday Season With Winterfest

(Posted Nov. 1, 2023)

Reston Association is proud to announce Winterfest, a new three-day family festival that’s perfect for the holiday season. Winterfest will feature a 'Light up the Park' walk, a Santa meet and greet, an 'Enchanted Forest' filled with decorated trees from the community, local vendors for holiday shopping, bonfires and smores, a pop-up bar, food options and more.

“Winterfest is a wonderful way to not only kick off the holiday season here in Reston, but also a chance for the community to come together and celebrate what makes Reston a great place to live and work,” said Laura Kowalski, Director of Recreation and Environmental Education for Reston Association. “We want our members, and the entire Reston community, to enjoy this inaugural event that we hope will become an annual tradition.”

A unique aspect of the event is the Enchanted Forest, which will feature up to 50 holiday trees individually decorated by sponsoring businesses, families or groups. Guests will be able to share in the holiday celebration as they walk through the Enchanted Forest and can vote for their favorite tree theme, most creative tree or most originality. Following the event, all trees will be donated to less fortunate families in the Reston community. Groups interested in sponsoring a tree for Winterfest can click here for more information.

Winterfest will run from November 30 through December 2, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Brown’s Chapel Park. The event is free for all Reston Association members; admission is $8 for non-members ages 3-17, and $18 for non-members 18+. Registration is open at www.reston.org/winterfest-2023
