Reston Founding Principals

To continue the vision of Robert E. Simon, Reston Association has written the 2024-2026 Strategic Plan to reflect the founding principles as envisioned by Mr. Simon. These founding principles include: 

• Reston will have housing for all.

• Reston will allow residents to live, work, and play in the same community.

• Reston will put the importance and dignity of everyone as the focal point of planning.

• Reston will be beautiful, and nature will be fostered.

• Reston will accommodate leisure time.

• Reston will have amenities from the outset, including a library, golf courses, art, and more.

• Reston will be financially successful.
