MARGARET PERRY APPOINTED TO RESTON ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

(Posted Oct. 20, 2023) RESTON, VA - Margaret Perry has been appointed to the Reston Association Board of Directors by Category B members as the Apartment Owners’ representative. Perry, who previously served on the Board as the Hunters Woods/Dogwood District representative, officially joined the Board effective October 19. She will complete the term of Mike Collins, who resigned from the Board in September.

Margaret Perry is a long-time Reston resident and has been active in the community for many years. She has worked with numerous non-profits and has sat on the boards for several area groups. She is a full-time government contractor and works as an Independent Travel Agent. She is an active advocate for members who are low-income or for whom English is not a first language.

“I believe compromise is key to getting things done and making changes that benefit the whole,” said Perry, who said she will strive to work with community groups to improve community connection and involvement to benefit all parties.  “I want all RA members to feel that their voice is heard and respected.”

Among her priorities as a Board member, Perry says she wants to see more involvement of and active engagement with RA members, with easier access for all regardless of native language, as well as addressing community needs and working with staff towards an improved website and improved organizational procedures. Perry’s term on the Board continues through the Spring 2024 election.
