Snow Removal a Shared Responsibility

Winter 2-2010 (33).jpg

(Posted Feb. 9, 2021) The responsibility for snow removal in Reston is shared by the Virginia Department of Transportation, Reston Association, cluster associations and individual residents and businesses.

Generally, RA clears snow from its 55 miles of pathways and access areas to village centers while VDOT plows local roadways. Clusters can hire private contractors to remove snow from parking lots and other common areas. Residents are also encouraged to shovel sidewalks and other pedestrian walkways.
