(Posted May 24, 2021) Reston Association will begin to ease or eliminate COVID-related pool restrictions beginning May 28 in accordance with Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s executive orders and guidance from the Virginia Department of Health. Further restrictions will be relaxed in June.

While reservations will be required through Memorial Day weekend, pool facility capacity limits will increase, thereby allowing for more users. Masks will still be required inside facilities unless you are in the water, eating, drinking, exercising or have a medical exception.

Beginning June 1, pool facilities will open to full capacity with no reservations required. However, due to popular demand, RA will continue to have lap swim and water fitness reservations available at some locations throughout the summer. Walk-ins will be permitted on a limited basis.

Physical distancing requirements will no longer be enforced starting in June, but RA is asking facility users to be mindful of personal space. Active health screening will also not be required, but the association is requesting that users wear masks where possible in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control recommendations.

Pool facilities will be open as follows (full schedule posted online at https://www.reston.org/aquatics):

  • June 1: North Shore, Ridge Heights, Lake Newport, Lake Audubon, Newbridge, Dogwood, Glade and Golf Course Island.

  • June 12-Aug. 8: Autumnwood, Dogwood, Glade, Golf Course Island, Hunters Woods, Lake Audubon, Lake Newport, Newbridge, North Hills, North Shore, Ridge Heights and Uplands.

  • Aug. 9: through the end of the summer schedule will be updated based on staffing resources.

All programs and rentals are open for registration.
