Coming Soon: Pantone Machine

(Posted May 9, 2023) The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a standardized color matching method that is widely used around the world; the PMS proprietary system achieves a higher degree of accuracy in color matching than results afforded by matches based on conventional four-color CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and ‘key,’ or black) bases.

Over the last two years, Covenants Staff has been fostering a strong relationship with our local Sherwin Williams store to assist clusters with finding potential color matches for their DRB-approved palettes. While this partnership has been a great benefit to members, we are always looking for additional ways to add value to our outreach.

Covenants Staff are happy to announce the availability of a Pantone Color Machine within the Covenants Department. This machine is beneficial to members by way of using the standardization of colors (regardless of brand or manufacturer) and identifying a color match that could be used for establishing custom color codes and mixes when updating cluster standards. The machine can quickly and accurately match color from any surface, material, or fabric back to a Pantone color, which then can be used at any paint store to match the color. Staff will be rolling out specific details on how RA members may access the machine prior to the deployment – stay tuned.
