Cluster Spotlight: Whisperwood Cluster

(Posted Nov. 14, 2023) At 231 total units, Whisperwood Cluster, located off of South Lakes Drive, is one of Reston’s largest clusters. Marked by a modern colonial style with a stable, colorful palette and trademark front porches and decorative ‘gingerbread panels’, Whisperwood is a fantastic living example of the benefit and importance of current cluster standards that reflect the preferences of the association's membership.

Over the past five years, Whisperwood Cluster has been diligent about pushing standard update applications through the DRB process to include adding architectural shingle options and updated decorative lighting options to the cluster’s standards, in addition to standardizing the option of using composite materials to replace and repair original wood trim elements.

Whisperwood has been proactive about establishing policies for electric vehicle charging stations and is currently working on wide variety of cluster common area projects, including a site lighting update, and additional modernizing updates to the colors and materials palette.
