Monday and Wednesday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturdays 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Sundays 1 p.m.- 4 p.m.
Closed to public on Tuesdays.
Closed to the public on RA holidays, including: May 27, July 4, Sept. 2, Nov. 28-29, Dec. 25-26.
If you would like to bring a group to the nature center, please call ahead to arrange your visit. Groups may also request programs at least 3 weeks in advance of their desired dates.
The Walker Nature Center is the heart of Reston’s 1,300 acres of open space. The Center provides a variety of educational and recreational resources, programs and facilities.
The mission of the Center is to foster good environmental stewardship through the use of direct experiences and interpretive media. The Center enhances people’s awareness, knowledge, appreciation, and enjoyment of the environment.
The Nature Center is located on 72-acres of hardwood forest, bisected by Glade Drive. Features include:

ADA Accessible Native Plant Trail
Picnic tables and trailside benches
Outdoor displays and interpretive signs
Demonstration gardens and meadows
Glade Stream Valley
Snakeden Branch stream’s entrance to 44-acre Lake Audubon
