Reston has 55 miles of paved and natural surface pathways (with 95 bridges) winding throughout Reston’s open spaces. Not only do these paths provide a great place to exercise and get some fresh air, they also connect neighborhoods, recreation areas and shopping centers. For a map of the entire Reston area, click here. Listed below are individual trail maps that can be downloaded online.
Town Center to Lake Anne (Green Trail)
Lake Thoreau Loop (Red Trail)
North Point Loop (Pink Trail)
South Lakes Village Center to Hunters Woods Village Center (Turquoise Trail)
Tall Oaks to Lake Anne to North Point (Blue Trail)
All trails are multi-use, so users can expect to encounter walkers, joggers, bicycling, wheelchairs and pathway maintenance vehicles. No motor vehicles are allowed on the pathway system. The only exceptions are maintenance vehicles and motorized wheelchairs. Trail guides for marked trails and our overall pathway system are provided online and copies are available at our offices.
