PBAC Seeking Youthful Input
If you are a youth resident member of Reston Association (14 years or older), and would like to become more involved in issues of walkability and bicycle transportation in your community, consider attending a meeting of RA's Pedestrian & Bicycling Advisory Committee.

Interested young adults should submit the following items to the RA Board & Committee Liaison, Sabrina Faubert, at sfaubert@reston.org:

1. Statement of interest

Please state your reason for interest in membership on the Pedestrian & Bicycling Advisory Committee. Consider some of the following questions in your response. In your informal interview with the RA Board Planning Committee (see note below), you may be asked similar questions.

  • Why do you want to be a member of the Pedestrian & Bicycling Advisory Committee?
  • Why is improved pedestrian and bicycle transportation important to you?
  • What specific improvements do you think could be made to your community’s transportation system to increase biking and walking?

2. Resume or list of relevant experiences

3. One recommendation, either from a teacher or a current member of the PBAC

Once you have submitted an application, please plan to attend the next meeting of the PBAC as a guest. For more detailed information on the regular meeting times of the Pedestrian & Bicycling Advisory Committee, please visit RA’s online calendar.

Your joining this committee can contribute toward your volunteer service-hour requirements.

Email sfaubert@reston.org or call 703-435-6570 for more information.
