Arts Community

Reston is known for its eclectic style and appreciation for the arts. It is apparent in the architecture of the homes, the village centers and even in surrounding commercial buildings. The presence of art can even be found walking along any of the many trails, which are decorated with sculptures and murals. Below are some of the studios and art centers that can be found in the Reston area.

Greater Reston Arts Center

Greater Reston Arts Center is dedicated to promoting excellence and involvement in the contemporary visual arts. The center presents notable exhibitions, delivers a broad range of educational programming (including the popular GRACE Art program) and produces the annual Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival.

Initiative for Public Art – Reston (IPAR) was established in 2007 by a group of Reston civic and community organizations and leaders who have joined to develop a vision and plan for developing a new generation of public artworks throughout the community. The name eventually changed to Public Art Reston.
