Reston Association’s Legal Committee is responsible for recommending to the Board of Directors proposed enforcement actions, the imposition of sanctions and the filing of legal proceedings.
The Legal Committee has the power to: (a) impose reasonable charges upon; (b) suspend the right of use of Common Area, facilities, services or participation in programs; and (c) issue a cease and desist request to, an Occupant, an Owner, such Owner's tenant, and such Owner's (or tenant's) household, guests, employees, agents, and invitees whose actions are inconsistent with the provisions of the Association Documents, Maintenance and Use Standards, or the Rules and Regulations.
The Legal Committee is composed of the association’s president, three other directors, and the chief executive officer.
The Legal Committee meets at 6 p.m. the first Wednesday of every month unless otherwise noted on the RA calendar. Please note that due to the strict confidentiality required around this committee's actions, Legal Committee meetings are held in executive session and meeting minutes are not available to the public.
