Committees, Ad Hoc Groups Overview

About Committees

Reston Association’s Amended Bylaws grants the Board of Directors the authority to establish board committees and advisory committees to assist in the work of the board and give advice on association matters. Additionally, the Deed of Dedication mandates the existence of several board committees as well as the Design Review Board.

Currently, RA has six board committees and six advisory committees, each focusing its efforts on specific issues -- studying, debating, formulating, and finally arriving at a course of action and recommendation for adoption by the board. Additionally, the board also utilizes shorter-term (ad hoc) working groups and task forces to focus on specific issues.
