COVID-19 Updates

COVID-19 Updates

Overview

Multiple factors are taken into consideration as we begin to reopen. Considerations include new information from state and local government officials, phase implementation, ability to ensure safety of the public and Reston Association staff, opening of supply chains, staff is onboarded, other area agency plans as well as the professional opinion of RA staff to operate in this environment.

Facilities

Aquatics

RA pools will remain closed through Phase I. RA Board of Directors plan to discuss the reopening of pools at their June 25 meeting. No update will be available until after this meeting. We hope to open a minimum of four pool facilities this summer and plan to operate on a modified schedule as restrictions are lifted. Please visit this page for updates on the status of RA pools or contact MemberServices@reston.org.

Tennis

Reston Association will use a phased approach to open tennis and pickleball courts as our region moves between phases outlined by state and local governments. Beginning June 5th, all court locations will be open at half capacity and full hours will be restored (dawn-11pm) for lighted facilities.

Walker Nature Center

Our grounds and trails are open. Please practice social distancing. Our campfire ring and pavilion will be resume operation in Phase II. The Nature House will open in phases pending state and local government restrictions are lifted.
