Reston’s paths are one of the community’s greatest
joys. Set as your goal to explore all 55 miles of paved and
natural surface pathways (with 95 bridges) winding throughout
Reston’s open spaces. Not only do these paths provide
a great place to exercise and get some fresh air, they also
connect neighborhoods, recreation areas and shopping centers.
All trails are multi-use so users can expect to encounter
walkers, joggers, bicycling, wheelchairs and pathway maintenance
vehicles. No motor vehicles are allowed on the pathway system.
The only exceptions are maintenance vehicles and motorized
wheelchairs.
Trail guides for marked trails and our overall pathway system
are provided on-line and copies are available at our Isaac
Newton Square office.
