July 2nd!
High in the Sky
What’s that flying up in
the sky? Birds aren’t the only ones soaring around.
Learn which animals use the wind to help them move.
Float like a butterfly and buzz like a bee. Look at
seeds and find ones that move
like helicopters. Fly a kite and make a parachute.
You’ll
soon see that things are looking up!
2. July 7–July
18
Diggin’ Down
March like an ant and tunnel like
a chipmunk. Learn which critters make their homes right
under our feet. Dig down in the dirt and take a peek
under logs. Create your own bug house and make cricket
sounds. Discover how moles get around without using
their eyes, and use your
senses to explore the world around you. You’ll
really dig it!
3. July 21–August
1
Go Green!
Green grass, green frogs, green
leaves…green
is everywhere! Go on a green scavenger hunt and make
a green collage. Eat green snacks and sing songs about
things that are green. Learn how you can keep the
Earth green and healthy. It’s easy to be green
in Reston!
4. August
4–August 15
Animal Olympics
There are some amazing animal athletes.
Learn which animals would win the gold medal in the
50-yard dash, which can jump the highest and which
ones swim the fastest. Find out if you can jump like
a rabbit, run like a fox or slither like a snake. There
will be plenty of stories, songs and animal antics
to go around!
