Camp on Wheels is a program for enthusiasts who love to skateboard, ride a bike, or learn to ride a bike.
Skateboarding sessions are brought to you by RA and a local Skateboard vendor.
There are equipment requirements for each of the specialized sporting options. Check with RA Member Services or the Camp Registrar about details prior to the first day of camp.
These camps run in one week increments from 9 a.m.- 3:45 p.m. at Lake Newport Soccer Field. Transportation is not available during this program.

Science Camp is a program designed for campers between the ages of 8-12 years old who have a passion or interest in science. Campers will be taken to the cutting age of fun through experiences, exploration and exposure to a variety of “ologies.” Part of the day will be spent meeting with a United States Geological Survey (USGS) guest scientist during the two-week session and learn about a career in science. The rest of the day, all campers will engage in traditional camp activities such as arts and crafts, music, group games, swimming and possible field trips.
This camp is in partnership with the USGS and held at its facility off Sunrise Valley road. Campers have the opportunity to participate in special interest activities such as drama, science lab with Mr./Ms. Wizard, sports, and creating the weekly Reston Camps newspaper.
Junior Day Camp is filled with fun activities that allow for physical involvement, social interaction, educational opportunities, leadership building, personal growth and creativity. The program is catered to the young adventurists ages 5-7 years of age who are ready to start their Reston Camps traditions in a full day-camp setting.
Junior Day campers will be divided into groups with activities appropriate to the interests and needs of each group. Each session has a fun theme where the young campers will participate in games, nature activities, music, crafts, swimming, and possibly a field trip.
This program is held at Brown’s Chapel near Lake Newport. Extended care and transportation for pick-up and drop-off to camp is also available Monday through Friday.
Day Camp provides an outdoor destination camp experience for ages 7-11 years old that will include enrichment opportunities to explore their physical and social development, creativity while meeting new friends. Activities revolve around themes and include group games, sports, swimming, arts & crafts, music/drama, and special events. Trips to local attractions round out each camp session to provide campers with experiences they'll never forget.
Special interest activities such as tennis and swim lessons are available for an additional fee. Extended care and transportation for pick-up and drop-off to camp is also available Monday through Friday. This program is held at Brown’s Chapel near Lake Newport.
Sportsters Camp celebrates a fun-filled, weeklong sports environment for boys and girls between the ages of 6-9 years old. Participants work on team work, sportsmanship, and basic fundamentals in a variety of sports. Sportsters will gain confidence in each of the sports as they will be divided into groups based on ages and abilities. Part of the day will be spent on the sport chosen for the day to learn as we stretch, do skills and drills, learn rules of the sport, and maybe even scrimmage. Other activities during the camp may involve but are not limited to arts and crafts, nature games, and possibly swimming. This specialty program is a great way for campers to add some variety into their summer camp experience.
Tennis Camp is designed for beginners ages 7-13. Our camp staff are tennis enthusiasts and we bring in RA Tennis Instructors to teach lessons Monday through Wednesday. Depending on the day, activities may include drills & skills, on or off court games and athletic skill development. We will take a break during the day with a trip to a RA pool for a swim. In addition, campers may spend part of their day participating in activities including group games, sports & fitness, hands-on activities, arts & crafts or a field trip. Lessons that are missed due to rain will be made up Thursday and/or Friday.
In a time when teenagers are becoming increasingly more glued to technology, our camp takes teens and thrusts them into nature, teaching them valuable lessons about the outside world, while simultaneously molding them into capable young adults. Counselor-in-Training is an experience-based learning program and our CIT's are a valued part of our summer camps. They will explore principals of effective leadership and gain practical experience in these skills as leaders of our own Reston Camps.
Teens will have a chance to show what is learned in supervised hands-on training with our younger campers. CIT’s will be assigned to various Reston Camps. Transportation to attend this camp is available. If your teen wants preparation for a great summer job, this is the camp for you. This camp is for teens ages 14-15.

Teen Camp participants, ages 12-14, will spend two full weeks with friends, gain confidence with exposure to a variety of hobbies, interests, and cultural programs. Each day promises a new adventure through field trips, arts and crafts, nature exploration, swimming and boating.
This program runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, plus occasional extended field trips with a late dismissal time depending on the trip. Extended care and transportation for pick-up and drop-off to camp is also available for an additional fee.
Summer Art Camp, presented by the Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE) in partnership with the Reston Association, is designed to take advantage of what GRACE does best: provide direct learning experiences centered on the visual arts. We focus on many aspects of art-making and encourage children to expand their artistic vocabulary and creativity through hands-on art activities taught by professional art educators. Children experience a range of exciting themes from our messiest, most popular camp, “My Mom Would NEVER Let Me Do That!” to camps exploring the visual arts in tandem with science, technology, and yoga!

This camp is full of fun in and out of the water! Campers ages 8-12 will spend mornings with certified swim lesson instructors helping each camper improve swimming skills and afternoons will include traditional camp activities such as arts and crafts and group games. All swimming abilities are welcome.
New 2020 camp for campers ages 12-15, which will include a new adventure every day. Daily outings may include rock climbing, trampoline park, ropes course, laser tag, hiking and fishing, caverns, roller skating, mini golf, baseball games and more.
Where can campers learn how to canoe, kayak and stand-up-paddle all in a week? This is the perfect camp for kids ages 11-15 who are looking for to do something different during the summer. We focus on water safety, teamwork and responsibility, all while having fun with races, relays , and scavenger hunts on the lakes of Reston. All safety equipment provided. Camp staff are American Canoe Association (ACA) and lifeguard certified.

Nature Tots provides an outdoor education experience for ages 3-5 that allows children to develop their social and physical skills in a fun and unique environment. Based at the Walker Nature Center, campers enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that encourage creativity and exploration. Activities are centered around themes and include nature walks, group games, arts & crafts, and music.

Walker’s Rangers provides an outdoor education experience for children ages 6-9. Based at the Walker Nature Center, campers enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that encourage creativity, exploration and appreciation for their environment. Activities are centered around themes and include nature walks, group games, arts & crafts, and music.
