of selling your home? One of the important documents
Virginia law requires you obtain is the Reston Association
(RA) Disclosure Packet (Resale Certificate) for your
property. If your home is a part of a cluster or
a condominium association, you will also need to order
a disclosure packet from your cluster or condominium
association.
The RA Disclosure Packet contains pertinent information
regarding RA and your assessment (annual dues) account. The documents will also address, in a
separate letter, any design or maintenance violations that may have been observed
during the Covenants counselor’s exterior inspection of your property.
The Virginia POAA law requires that only the owner or his authorized
agent may purchase and receive disclosure packets. If the homeowner or
authorized agent would like someone else to purchase or receive the documents,
please submit this request in writing by mail, fax or email.
By law, RA has two weeks; from the day payment is received, to complete the Disclosure
Packet. You will receive a telephone call when the Disclosure Packet is complete.
For an additional fee, you may elect to have the disclosure packet mailed.
