Foulger Pratt Development has filed an application to rezone approximately 24 acres at Association Drive from industrial to Planned Residential Mixed Use. This site, which is immediately adjacent to the planned Soapstone Connector, is currently the home of several trade associations and spans eight parcels. Most of the buildings were first occupied in the early 1970s and center around a park area used by the buildings’ employees.
The proposal would include new buildings for commercial offices and ground level retail and nearly 900 residential units, including assisted and independent living senior housing, apartments, condominiums and townhomes. The total development proposed is approximately 1.5 million square feet.
The first opportunity the public will have to review and comment on the plan will be when the applicant presents to the Reston Planning and Zoning Committee and that is not currently scheduled. Once that date is known we will update the information here and include it in our weekly RA News email.
