Reston Association Multi-Year Strategic Plan

In December 2006, the Board of Directors and Executive Staff completed the organization’s Strategic Plan Development Process. With the assistance of a facilitator, the Board and Executive Staff created a “map” for the Association to use over the next 3 to 10 years to “guide” the organization’s activities.

Altogether, the Board and Executive staff spent approximately 30 hours, over a course of eight meetings, developing a new Vision, Mission, and set of Strategic Goals and Objectives for the organization. In addition, the Executive staff created a list of Action Steps that the Association will undertake in the next three years to accomplish the Strategic Goals and Objectives to achieve the Mission and further the Vision of the Association.

The proposed Vision and Mission will guide the Association’s activities over the next 10 years (2017). Alternately, the Strategic Goals and Objects have a shorter lifespan of three years (2010) to allow the organization change with the needs of the community.
