There are five seats open in the 2019 Board of Directors election. The Reston Association Elections Committee is asking RA members to consider running for a seat on the board. Interested members should fill out a candidacy statement form and return it by 5 p.m. Jan. 25.
Harry P. “Hank” Lynch has been named Chief Executive Officer for Reston Association. The Board of Directors unanimously voted in favor of hiring Lynch after a 9-month search to fill the vacant position.
(Updated Dec. 6, 2018) The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors authorized the scheduling of two public hearings about proposed changes to the Planned Residential Community zoning ordinance at its meeting on Dec. 4. The hearings will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 and at 4:30 p.m. on March 5 at the county government center in Fairfax.
The Reston Association Board of Directors approved the second year of the 2018/2019 biennial budget Thursday night. As a result of finalizing the $17.9 million 2019 budget, the annual assessment rate for members was set at $693, which is an $11 increase from last year’s fee.
Larry Butler, the acting CEO for Reston Association, will present his recommendations for the 2019 Operating and Capital Budgets at a public hearing Nov. 8. The proposed budget, if approved by the Board of Directors at its Nov. 15 meeting, would increase members’ assessment fee $11, setting the rate at $693.
