Douglas Britt was selected by the Reston Association Board of Directors Thursday night to fill the empty at-large seat on the board. The seat became vacant due to a resignation last month. Because this is a board-appointed position, the term will only run through April 2020. The seat will then be placed on the election ballot in 2020 and the winning candidate will serve the final year of the term.
(Updated April 10, 2019) The results of the 2019 Board of Directors' election were announced at the Tuesday, April 9 Annual Members' Meeting. The Reston Association election process is overseen by the Elections Committee and the balloting is done by an independent firm. Voting took place from March 4 through April 3.
Reston Association is extending the voting period in the 2019 Board of Directors’ election to April 3 at 5 p.m. The original deadline of April 1 was changed in order to accommodate some voters who did not receive their ballots when expected earlier this month.
The Reston Association Elections Committee has certified five candidates to run for the five open seats on Board of Directors this year. Voting will take place from March 4 through April 1.
