Reston Association’s Volunteer Reston program has announced its 2019 service award winners. These volunteers will be honored at the Reston Association Volunteer Service reception on Thursday, April 18. The event will be held at The Lake House sponsored by Comstock.
The annual Volunteer Reston Service Awards recognize individuals, groups and community partners who have provided exemplary volunteer service to Reston Association and the Reston community. This year’s honorees represent seven categories.
Volunteers are needed for the 30th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup on April 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Historically, thousands of residents from multiple states have participated in this event.
Leanna Kirkland was named Reston Association’s Volunteer of the Year at a ceremony Thursday, April 27 to honor individuals and groups who have gotten involved in making Reston a better place to live, work and play.
Reston Association announced that it is expanding its Volunteer Reston Service Awards in 2017 to include more recognition categories and a special Lake House ceremony to take place in April. This is also the first year that the Reston community as a whole has been invited to nominate volunteers.
