Reston Association will open four of its pools – one in each RA district – on June 29. The pools will be open seven days a week and will be accessible to members and non-members who have a valid 2020 Recreation Pass. To comply with state regulations, the pools will only be available for lap swimmers and water walkers who reserve time and for instructional fitness programs.
Reston Association pools will not open in May as originally scheduled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Because of the uncertainty of how long governmental guidelines and restrictions will remain in place to combat the spread of the virus, aquatics programs, events and other pool-related activities will not be rescheduled at this time.
(UPDATED May 30, 2019) Reston Association is working to address issues that led to a few pools being closed over the Memorial Day weekend. Most of the closings were related to a shortage of lifeguards to staff all of RA’s 15 outdoor pools. Some lifeguards called in sick. Additional problems were related to equipment failures and vandalism.
UPDATE 6/9/2017: Repairs have been completed at the Lake Audubon pool facility. The pool is scheduled to reopen Saturday, June 10. The facility had been closed since Memorial Day weekend due to a broken drainage pipe.
Reston Association is extending the weekday hours for the Lake Newport Pool to 10 a.m.-7 p.m. for Season 2, which runs from May 27-June 23. Previously, the pool was scheduled to open at 1 p.m. on weekdays.
