Reston Association announced the winners of the 2020 Board of Directors’ election at the association’s Annual Members’ Meeting, which was held Thursday, April 30. The meeting was conducted virtually on Zoom because of the current statewide requirements for social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The winners of the election of the month-long election to the nine-member board include the following:
At-Large Seat (3-year term)
Robert T. Petrine
At-Large Seat (1-year term)
Hunters Woods/Dogwood District (3-year term)
Apartment Owners’ Seat (3-year term)
The new board is expected to select its officers in May. Officer positions include president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.

The RA board is responsible to the membership for seeing that the overall organizational goals of the association are accomplished. The board, which meets monthly, establishes RA policy and procedures, hires and evaluates the CEO, monitors finances, approves budgets and sets the assessment rate. Each board member’s term lasts three years unless a special appointment is made to fill a vacated seat until the next election.
