The Brand Consultancy, the company hired by Reston Association to conduct a community survey and overall member experience study, delivered its report to the association’s Board of Directors, staff and the RA membership in December 2019. The data in the report will be used to assist RA in better serving its members.
The Brand Consultancy’s representatives and RA’s CEO, Hank Lynch, gave a public presentation about the survey’s findings at a meeting on Dec. 4. Click here to download informational slides from presentation.
About 1,600 people responded to the survey, which makes the data statistically reliable and demographically representative of the community as a whole. Nearly three-fourths (73%) of those surveyed by The Brand Consultancy said they have a good or excellent opinion of RA. By comparison, most residents in other associations nationwide have a 63% positive rating, according to the Community Association Institute.
RA members gave high satisfaction grades to existing association amenities such as
Reston’s trails, garden plots and educational/recreational programs. The most desired new services included food festivals, a mobile app for the community, outdoor theater and adult-only events at The Lake House Supported by Comstock. Respondents also said they would like RA to focus more on pricing for services and amenities, and development issues.
