Ongoing Legal Challenges

The Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals overruled a prior zoning administrator's decision about the attempt by owners of the Reston National Golf Course to rezone the property for development. The BZA ruling came on April 15, 2015, clearing the way for the owners of the golf course to continue the process of potentially gaining approval to build residential housing on the land. RA supports keeping the golf course as open space and is in agreement with the county’s zoning administrator earlier determination that any change to the property would require revising the Comprehensive Plan. Read the appeals hearing testimony from RA CEO, Cate Fulkerson.
